Family

I took my dignity

Looked up the word ‘family’ in the Webster’s Dictionary

 

“A group of people who are related to each other”

 

Related to me was mother and father

 

Why didn’t it feel like a family?

 

The realization hit me

The word family

Is not only a noun

Family should be a safe sound

Family should give you a warm feel

To say it’s just a noun would not be as real

Family is not only those who relate to you

Rather family are those who care too

Family is there

When present, you feel the warmth everywhere

Family does not only mean same DNA

Family actually remembers your birthday

Family doesn’t just mean same genes

Family remember the small things

Family does not just mean blood

Family is supposed to be full of unconditional love
