I look down

On walls I built

Around my heart

Around my love

For fear of hurt

And in denial

 

Afraid to drown

Harbor my guilt

And live apart

Look from above

To fields burnt

This is my trial

 

Behind me here

The river held

By dams of pain

And dykes of fear

 

I always knew

It couldn’t hold

My love too strong

And all along

The river true

Waves push it through

 

Tried to repair

With fingers bare

The holes they make

The pain it takes

 

With sudden force

These Dark walls shatter

Lets in the flow

That was once held

It comes in streams

Breaks the foundation

And my soul screams

As I beheld

And now I know

It didn’t matter

It has its course

 

For love is true

Must leave these walls

Follow the shore

With hope anew

There’s so much more

I know its true

Love can shatter any wall built around your heart and soul. Sometimes it takes years to erode. But the repurcussions can happen suddenly :-)

Exactly Sweet_Pale... I relaized that and decided not long ago it was time for me to do soemthing about what I was feeling and where I was going for myself. And hopefully that would translate into my relaitonships with those that I love. It really has been a postive path. I don't know what the outcome will be, but it will be what I need.
