Touring Egypt Doesn’t have to Be Expensive

Touring Egypt Doesn’t have to Be Expensive

A Story by louisejanecruise

If you are planning on visiting Egypt, but still baffled on what cruise you want for your family, then this is the guide for you.

Nile cruises have always been a popular choice for many tourists like a chocolate bar for kids. Just like chocolate bars, each cruise can cost a fortune depending on what type of boat you picked. There are smaller bar cruise that you can take advantage of and at the same time they still give you the best views of Egypt.

Way back in the time of Amelia Edwards, most people would hire a dahabiya by you or share with another person just to go from Cairo to Abu Simbel. In the modern times, cruising by boat is now the synonym for adventure. Most Egypt tour packages, offer Nile Cruises. And they are available in a wide variety of choices. Sailing boats come in different types and some of which can handle 8 passengers while others up to 12 passengers.

Sailing across the Nile between Esna and Aswan, are the common stop-over’s if you are planning on travelling by sailboat. But if you prefer cruising in luxury, you can always get the larger boats in which you can wake up next to the site and have a wonderful breakfast looking up the Egyptian temple.

And for those who prefer camping in the wild, feluccas are the way to go. Sailing for many centuries in the river Nile, feluccas can give visitors a romantic picture of the Egyptian family holiday. These cruises are much cheaper than any cruise, and are popular with many backpackers and young people.

Gebel Silsila is perhaps one of best atmospheric pit stop for Egyptian sailing. Visitors can moor up the night sky, and see the glow of Speoks of Horembheb. Breakfast in the morning will take you on deck and you can explore the site if you wish. Just be careful, not to gobble down on breakfast, and lunch, as Egyptian food is quite tasty and can gain you an extra pounds if you’re not careful.

No Egypt travel can be complete without you visiting the most awe-inspiring temple of ancient Egypt. The Great Sun Temple of King Ramses II at Abu Simbel was created by the pharaoh himself. The temple was carefully angled and oriented on the sun’s ray that it would align twice a year to mark his ascension on his throne. These dates are on 21st of February and on the birthday of the pharaoh o 21st of October, and will also illuminate the inner sanctum of the temple.

As you can see, there are many Egypt tour packages that you can choose and they don’t have to be expensive. Nile cruises don’t have to be luxurious as there are other ways to enjoy the breathtaking scene of Egypt without spending too much money. Sailboats are best way to go by the river and if your that lucky enough, you can always go basking with the Egyptian sun with the large sailboats.
