Midnight SunA Poem by R.R.LouderbackDone as a writing challenge..."Write a poem based on this picture."
I stand beside a lonesome pine at night.
About me sounds of darkness huddle close. I tremble at each chirp that gives me fright. In this black lonely place I'm e'vr alone. I kneel before an altar of the dark. I seem a child who'll never be full-grown. Kneeling and praying, in dark winter's blight I bare my soul and stand in darkness stark The sun rides high but gives the world no light. I stand beside a lonesome pine at night. The sun rides high but gives the world no light. © 2010 R.R.Louderback |
