One Sun

One Sun

A Poem by Losing ground

So many empty words flow from the tongues of fools

But your empty words will fall upon my freshly deafened ears

When the few words that need to be spoken and embraced by all are nowhere to be found

The willful ignorance of the human race has sealed our fate

With our thoughts, we make our world

And this world has been made in the worst possible way

Our thoughts poison and getting further from the truth

The fire still rages and the path that has chosen me continues to rise

While the world beneath my blackened feet crumbles

I plead to all that these words will fall upon fresh ears

And the few words that need to be screamed are heard by all

Let compassion flow from your heart

Search inside and be one

And detach the fear that binds us all

For we are all brothers under one sun

Wow, this was incredible! I think I love it so much because not only is it well-written, but it also has a great amount of depth. I like poems that make people think--that make me think.

The lines, "The willful ignorance of the human race has sealed our fate--With our thoughts, we make our world," are so powerful. I don't think people realize how much of control they have over the way the world is.

Loved the last line too. It's truth, each person is different, but despite that, we all stand on common ground. We all have one thiing in common--we all live on the same world. Your poem is brilliant in making that clear and insisting that it's our job to craft the world into a better place, one in which empty words don't always flow from tongues of fools, and compassion flows from our hearts.

And you stated it so very well, and so very succinctly. Shelved.

P.S. I've been busy for so long and haven't had time to be on writer's cafe :(, so I just got your message yesterday asking to check out your work. Sorry it's been so long!

Anyway, keep on writing!
