Her PrincessA Story by Kitty JaneThere, watching was a child, a gentle smile on their face As happiness seemed to dance in their eyes a young girl was sat laughing, her face lit with the flash. (remake of story 'Jump')
The comforting breeze blew through the city.
Lights bright and wild. But on the edge of the town in an almost empty place, sat a frozen figure perched on the edge of a lifeless building. Her ice white hair in a messy mop on top of her head, a thin blue jumper clinging to her petite body, paired with some dirty brown cut offs. Crystallized blue eyes were glazed over with thought, toes curled slightly over the loose gravel, as her gaze dropped towards the forgotten snow, thin skeleton like hands clenched around an old phone and picture frame before letting the cheerful faces drop towards the angels below. I
could never have that.
Two. Three. Jump. Come on you pathetic girl, jump Taking one more step, she stood at the edge of the building, hands shaking, and breaths ragged coming out in deep pants. One more step, you can do it. Jump The
wind grew fierce as she stood still. Tall. I hope my princess
She
turned her back to the small town. Facing towards the glowing ball in the sky. Jump little girl. It will
all be over. Jump
It was silent as she fell. Only the wind dared to scream. She watched the frame as she was dying, laying cold on the floor with a gentle caress of wind on her cheeks. Memories playing themselves across the near lifeless eyes as they flickered shut.
Shouting with laughter the young girl ran, getting chased by the mother she loved,
“I’m going to get you, my little Princess!” a cheerful voice exclaimed causing the girls to squeal more “Wait, May be careful! Stop, MAY AWAY FROM THE ROAD. MAY WATCH OUT. STOP!” The little girl continued to laugh as she ran, a panicking mother racing behind trying to catch the little girl. The mother continued to scream as the child stepped of the pavement “MAY! MAISIE! MAISIE STOP! DON’T!” The screaming of tires, and smell of burning rubber filled the air. And a scream as a thump was heard.
My princess is gone, and now I am too
The lights seemed dimmer, the noise grew faint. Her mind shutting down
Her wish was answered as she heard an echo of a laugh
Dying, she gave one last smile to the world that had been so unkind to her child, and it turn, to her. © 2015 Kitty JaneAuthor's Note
