Lost with No DirectionA Poem by lostnodirectionTrying to figure out what you were put on this earth to do in your twenties.
The time has come, that time in which the road begins to split.
You stop for a moment, to think, reflect, turn and remember from whence you came, but the longer you wait, the less clear the road becomes, the longer you wait, the lonelier you feel. You think about how clear your path was when you began your travels, how easy the journey seemed it would be. The destination was always clearer than the path, but you were young and arrogant and figured the journey was the easy part. Now it's nightfall, and you still know not which way to go. You decide to stay the night, telling yourself you'll know better in the morning, but morning comes and still nothing is clearer. You cry, you curse, you pray, you're scared for the first time, truly scared. You wonder why you didn't make better plans when your adventure began. You can't believe that this has happened to you, that thing you promised would never happen, the not-knowing is the worst. You realize the tears won't make anything better, no one can hear your curses, and if God is up there, he's got better things to do. You pick yourself up, take a deep breath, and pick a path. Eyes closed you take your first step, and hope for the best, the second part of the journey has begun.
