The Last Rose

The Last Rose

A Poem by Chasity Reynolds
"

a twist ending; she was loved all along, like many who commit suicide are.

"
Looking in the mirror
She sees her reflection;
Her hair isn't perfect,
Her clothes don't fit tight,
Her makeup is ruined
By the tears she cries.

No one ever notices how hard she tries
To make herself known,
To let others know she's pretty,
To be loved by a guy.

No one knows the dark thoughts she has;
One cut with a knife,
One pulled trigger...
She's been playing Russian Roulette with her life.

One more incident,
One more regret,
One more time of being turned away
Equals the last and final bullet.

No letter of explaining why,
No one would care,
No one would shed a tear.

Here she lies in a bed of satin,
Her hands cover her heart.
The one that's been broken so many times before.

There's one more broken heart today
As the boy lays a rose in her hands;
A love that was strong,
But it all went wrong
Because she put that gun to her head.

Strangly I like this...this is a good example that things take time to change. Even though it seems dark and miserable, doesn't mean it is going to stay that way. Though if we engulf ourselves in dispair we may become blind and give up.

Good Job
