The World of Agony

The World of Agony

A Poem by Chasity Reynolds

There the rose lies wilting
Its petals turning brown
Softly falling to the ground.

There the sun is setting
Dark blue tinting the sky
Hiding behind the the thought of night.

There the child falls asleep
Eyes fluttering gently
Then screaming with dark dreams.

There the girl cries
Tears streaming down
Heart broken and full of lies.

There the old man shuts his eyes
Sees the light
Takes a final breath.

There the angel folds its wings
Falls from the sky
Walks the world unholy.

There the bell rings
Above the city
Above the world full of agony.
