The Other Side of Death

The Other Side of Death

A Poem by Chasity Reynolds
"

this poem was inspired by 'the end of the world'.

"
Life fades away,
Into the dark, lives cascade;
Death screams in everyone's minds,
One can't help but feel afraid.

Rumors swirl among the people,
As all the lights go out;
Our worst fears are coming true,
Everything to worry about.

Sickness spreads fast,
A deathly disease;
People begin to try believing,
Falling and praying on their knees.

Minds start going blank,
Eyes roll back;
Blood floods the world,
Souls grow black.

The sun is dimming,
And life grows cold;
I'll hang on to you though,
Despite what is to unfold.

Our breaths touch the air,
In clouds of frost;
By this time,
The hope of being saved is lost.

Let's take it as it comes,
Fast-coming but seeming slow;
The end of the world,
A dazzling but terrifying show.

Take my hand now,
As we take our last breath;
I love you, my dearest,
We'll meet on the other side of death.

Wow! You really got the feeling of those last few moments upon the Earth! I like how the last stanza shows a form of love for the fellow man! =)
