Dried out River Veins

seeing an ex after a breakup.....what more is there to say.

This is me putting on a happy face

Can you see the smile

It doesnt reach my eyes

and for some reason it feels out of place on my face

a distant memory of something i once had

 

do you hear my laughter

as fake as my smile

fragile like glass

so fragile it breaks and scars the inside of my throat

 

if you ripped out my heart and examined it

you'd see it's as black as coal

all shriveled up with nothing to live for

nothing to hope for

not beating and cold

 

it's a surprise i even have enough life in me

to scream your name in vain

to cry tear that never come

dried out river veins
