A Midsummer Day's Boredom

A Midsummer Day's Boredom

A Poem by Philomela Titania Lanx

Small-town teenagers
Roll noisily
Down bumpy black streets
On beat-up skateboards
In a Valley-summer haze.

Marilyn Manson
And Placebo
Pump into their brains
As powerfully as the blood
In their arteries.

Author's Note

Philomela Titania Lanx
Valley is capitalized because it specifically refers to the valley I live in.
Veins would rhyme, but that's not anatomically correct.
