ExplanationA Chapter by Mariah McintyreKaitlin finally learns whats truly going on.I swung my hand away, pulling the handcuffs along with it, and stared at it thin an colorless. But what I was looking for wasn't there. No cut, no hole, no mark at all. "Our saliva can heal any wound." Ethan spoke softly. My eyes turned up at him still weak and worried. His eyes were softer now, and his body was composed and overall he looked normal. "You'll be fine. And thanks to you, I will be too." He smiled. I sat waiting to feel myself change into some other creature or for the pain to return, but it didn't. I felt out of the ordinary. "That's it?" I whisper. "That's it." He replied. "But it's also much more. I can't believe you let me. You saved my life, even after all thats happened." I didn't know what to say. I can't believe I let him ether. "Damnitt though, David is going to be pissed." He laid his head in his hand now frustrated. "Why?" I ask. "He didn't want you to find out this way. I'm not sure how he expected us to tell you, but 'm pretty sure this wasn't the best way." I took a deep breathe. "Well atleast this way I believe you." I did. If I believed some perfect guy was out there waitin for me, why shouldnt I believe in vampires as well. "Hell I'll believe just about anything now." "Would you believe me if I told you your mother was one of the purist vampires of them all?" This caught me off gaurd. "Uh, really?" Was all I could manage. "Yes, and she fell in love with a human man and you were born. Then when the dark world found out, they tried to destroy you. But instead your parents were murdered and you were hidden. So many have been searching for you, and I found you." "Wait so people are trying to destroy me???" I exclaimed. "Unfortunetly yes. But David, the vampires and myself are all fighting to keep you safe." Suddenly Ethan looks down and David appears. "What are you doing?!" He growled at Ethan. "Explaining everything." He replied plainly. "Why in the world would you do that?!" "She let me drink from her." David turned around and stared at me. "You did?" I nodded. "Why?" I shrugged my shoulders and said, "He said he would die and nobody deserves to die." He eyed me with a mix of shock and curiousity. "Huh. She really is amazing." He spoke as if I weren't there. Ethan agreed, "Just as everyone believed." "I don't understand still. What is so amazing about me?" David smirked and began to explain where Ethan had left off."Because your mother was a vampire, and your father was a human, it's a miracle that your alive. No child has ever been born from half and half. And because you lived, you will be all vampire but all human." This is where I got confused. "But we can't be sure yet." "Yet?" I repeat. "We will know soon, once we get to california."
