FreedomA Poem by Mariah McintyreA free verse poem I wrote about just being free and leaving everything behind.Running, soaring, driving away; down this open road and sky; the wind rushing past me; like all the things that held me back; not knowing where I'm going; I might get lost; but to be lost in this beautiful world; would be finding myself in another; not knowing where I'm going; I might get lost; but to be lost in this wide open world; would be freedom, at last.
Running, soaring, driving away; I'm letting go of everything without a word to say; no note, no letter, no message, no goodbye; I'm letting go of the place I know; no longer afraid to die; I've got no money; and no place to go; but I know I can make it; all on my own.
I hope nobody misses me; I hope no one cares; because in the end my feeling for you are as forgotten and light as the air; the air that now hits my face at full speed; as I'm leaving this place; to the place I was truely ment to be; not knowing where I'm going; I might get lost; but finding my self is worth the cost.
I'm gone, I'm going; so wish me luck; Because one day we'll meet again; and you'll still be stuck. © 2009 Mariah Mcintyre |
