Chapter 1A Chapter by Mariah McintyreSome days it's like everything slips away.
In my mind I dissapear to a far off place where skies are blue, the grass is green and nothing else matters. Only the wind blowing past you and the clouds flying by leave, but the same ones returning again one day. A place where the only problems you have are whether or not it might rain and ether way you don't mind.
It's days like these that I feel calm yet gloomy, as if the skies are clear yet the sun isn't out. Everything makes sense, I know all that I need to know, I want all that I need to want, and I am all of the things I need to be.
"Name please." The woman behind the counter said breaking me of my thoughts.
"Taylor Muse." I replied smiling.
"Date of birth."
"May 16, 1993" I said still smiling despite the fact the woman did not even care to look up from her paper.
"Lastly I need an emergency number." This time the woman did look up and smile back, reasuring me and helping to smile again as I spoke.
"My mom's cell phone number is..." I continued while my mind began to float back to the heavens and the situation at hand played forward through my imagination.
This summer would be different, it would be fun and exciting, insightful and free. It will be like no summer before and I promised myself it would. Everything that happend in the past year will float away as my imaginary place comes to life...when I go to camp. © 2008 Mariah Mcintyre |
