SadnessA Poem by lostinthewaves
Sadness is comforting.
It is my blanket on a cold night, my forgiving friend. It knows me better than anyone else, my secrets held tightly behind closed blue lips. It is my rain, the quiet pitter-patter of soft drops through my restless nights. It calls me when I lose sight of where I'm going, promising to be my guide. I have built a makeshift shelter in sadness, trying to make it a home. But it never has been, and never will be. So when it calls, I won't answer. I will spend cold nights with the warmth I carry in my bones. I will share my thoughts with the wind, and let them drift into the sunrise of my new beginning. I will jump in the puddles, and laugh when cars go by, drenching me in new found freedom. I will lose my way, and I will find it all my own. © 2017 lostinthewavesReviews
