The Perfect SongA Poem by Celeste N. WallisA poem I wrote when I thought I was falling in love.I found the perfect song. The perfect song to play on the road trip in my mind. With my hands out the window I can feel the air whipping through each of my fingers. Without a care that my hair is getting tangled by the wind, I stare further through the window in absolute awe. In awe of the happiness brought to me by the pure act of leaving my problems behind, and keeping you. Keeping you in my company, keeping me sane. Keeping me happy. You are driving. Singing. Smiling. I am so fascinated by you. Intrigued by your entire being. I am falling for you. Falling for your laugh, your eyes, your smell. But it’s all in my head. It’s all a creation of my imagination. But I did not create your eyes, your smile, and heaven knows I could never think up a laugh like yours. Your smile haunts my dreams, and your lips control my thoughts. I could never make up a person like you, but I can easily create the situations between us. The unrealistic moments when you might grab my hand or smile at me, and even the less appropriate times that we share. I am falling for you, falling for the way you invade my mind and consume my every thought. All there is, is you. © 2016 Celeste N. WallisReviews
