fat americans...

fat americans...

A Poem by Brad
"

we are the country of mass consumption...

"

fat americans...huddled by the trough
of an old country buffet
super-sizing starch
double cheesed, double meat,
we're the fat americans
the rest of the world starves
as we dump more than we can chew
gathered at the pool
fat in our bathing suits

fat in our money
starving children
playing in our backyard
we're the fat americans
wearing our sweat suits
and sweating standing still
gas guzzling S.U.V.'s
while the third world rides their bikes
we're the fat americans
six figured incomes
full figured dress
make it go away
with a knife and chemicals
consuming land, food, resources,
we're the fat americans
fat pancake feet
fat rubbery jowls
cottage cheese legs
wobbly underarm sag
we're the fat americans
and we're going to eat you

Author's Note

Brad
this was written on a napkin at the Old Country Buffet, watching people who were extremely overweight come back from the trough with two plates overfilled and thought about how we are with everything...not just food

LMAO...you forgot chub rub!!!...although this has a serious element to it...it is obsence the amount we (and I include UK) consume and waste while nations starve..it really is unbelievable that a society that claims to be the most advanced civilisation to date can have such extremes ...the mind boggles..

Think it's a huge problem in the UK too..........what a great write.......gross as you lot say :) And when I think of the millions who starve, and all those greedy people, because it is greed, I feel sick.........

man... first of all I love writing on napkins... I take a pen with me anywhere I go... second of all, there are so many consequences from this behavior (not only on our health) but on the entire world... great observation. :)

I used to ride my bike to work , Hell I rode it everywhere and to be judged by some overweight chair jockey as "insane" for doing so only allows me to relate to your observations just a little bit more. Gluttony is as gluttony does ..
