the bridge...

the bridge...

A Poem by Brad
"

something different...

"

beyond the land of nod

to the borderlands of reality

a million children await

to the other side a dream awaits

a nightmare pulled

from the inky soup of id

a forgotten sea boils below

accepting the gift of hopes

it is upon this bridge

adults walk wearily

some cast themselves

on the jagged rocks under

others drag themselves forward

some walk back

yet more run head long willingly

into the unknown depths

of imaginary bliss

the children only wait and stare

into the void that reflects back

there is laughter over there

there are screams

there are horses whom take flight

and werewolves and vampires

they never cross over

as there are enough monsters

here...in the land of reality

. applause and standing ovation, bradley ... way to go ... you have an elated fan ... and even more elated aspiring parent ... may you shine like a million stars and twinkle in the lives of many ... like rafiqi says in the lion king ... "it is time" ... :) ...

Wow.. This was very dark for you, but at the same time very very excellent. "The Land of nod" this reminds me of something i have read before, but i cant remember what it was for the life of me.Anywho, back to the poem, i loved it and am very glad you wrote something like this. I prefer darker stuff and this definetly hit the spot.

very interesting imagery here you have created in my mind. "inky soup of id" hahaha
it reminds me of my fears, how children and adults can have the same fears, the truth about reality and how everyone copes with it a different way which ultimately leads to our destiny or not....

this is something different alright. I like your style as it is, but this gives me a new perspective on you as a writer. you retain your depth and all seriousness, while venturing deep into the land of innocence where imagination resides. beautiful!
