eternal yearn...

eternal yearn...

A Poem by Brad
"

the maori myth of creation...

"

rangi, sky father

papatua, earth mother

held in embrace

since time began

loving one another

with unrivaled passion

between them

darkness

their children living within

their darkness

yearning for light

Rangi and Papa

not willing to let go

of one another

until the children

gods

ripped them apart

rangi and papa

torn asunder

to let in the light

to begin the dawn of man

and father sky

and earth mother

eternally apart

yearning for one another

and the tears of lost love

drip in the rain...

I have always had a things for myths, they have so much to tell even though they are larger than life... gods in that day must have been like superstars are now. LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, performing wonders, fighting for the love of the crowd and the seat ontop of the mountain. :)

Gorgeous wordcrafting, Bradley! If you were a priest, your collar would be made of feathers and shell. :o)

I love creation stories. They are often full of beauty - see my Serpent and the Rainbow for the Voudon version. (the religion behind Hollywoods Voodoo) of which I have no connection but thought it was beautiful.

Very cool. Can't have only the good, you'd never know happiness without hard times.

This is a beautiful retelling of an old tale - old, yet familiar, based on human love and separation.
