look out, kid....

look out, kid....

A Poem by Brad
"

this is a nod to mr. dylan

"

mama's in the backyard
callin me a retard
daddy's in the next room
hittin me with the broom

~ah, look out, kid
you know what you did
you're the whole reason
daddy flipped his lid
no turnin back
from a heart attack
and no one cares
cause it ain't a medical fact

brother's on the east coast
sister's on the gulf coast
i'm sittin 'round a bar
talkin with the lurid ghosts
made a trip 'round the country
seen pittsburg, allentown and akron
preacher said that new york was a rebuilt babylon
st. paul, l.a., corpus cristi, key west
loved florida cause they treated me the best

~ah, look out, kid
you know what you did
you're the whole reason
the ol man flipped his lid
no home for the holiday

no where for you to stay
better buck it up
cause you're a curse since your birthday

read about kerouac
blood in his knapsack
tried to read ginsberg
couldn't understand a single word
nietzche was darker
humour dorothy parker
i'm on the a-train
writing 'bout all this pain
morrison never went far
like curt kobain on his guitar

~ah, look out, kid
you know what you did
just like your daddy
gone and flipped your lid
it's a two way street
beware who you meet
no one's gonna help you
so take the driver's seat
