sunset death...

sunset death...

A Poem by Brad

this is the end

of the sun, baby

the end of the day

the rain will start soon

and our breath will plume

from our lips

the stars signal our death

infinite. infinite.

double-drag squared

solar plexis eclipsed

by the lunacy of human currents

wash away another day

i kiss your lips and return to clay

was it love in the end?

like the song

or cosmic pipe dreams of overactive hearts

i don't believe anymore

homosapien superior

regurgitative rhetoric

blah de f****n blah

just watch

it's the death of another sun, baby...

very 50s detective tone, imo -it's like Bogart lighting up and coolly describing a nihilistic vision of the world. This had some very cool lines like "double drag squares" and "regurgitative rhetoric" . I like the baby, it sets the tone, and I can understand beginning and ending it with that word, but somehow I feel like you should only use it once...I got no rational behind it, just a thought...

your songs are so poetic, er i mean your poems are lyrical at times. Thia one is very very special

the stars signal our death

infinite. infinite.

double-drag squared

solar plexis eclipsed

by the lunacy of human currents

wash away another day

These lines are pure magic.

the beginning started out as if you had a belief in something beyond us which captured your imagination..by the end though the old cynic had reared his head..thoughtful write though

agree with Alessander here... gives me a sin city vibe... very nice contrasts with the raw language wrapped in beautiful imagery...

A cold sadness wringing in regret .. bittersweet memories, bittersweet words .. but written in colourful flowing style:

'.. this is the end ~ of the sun, baby ~ the end of the day ~ the rain will start soon ~ and our breath will plume ~ from our lips'

I feel a touch of William Blake in this, a darkness with a kick.

I think this is my absolute favourite of yours - it's inspired in every line. I love the juxtaposition of the world-weary voice and the romantic sunset. Priceless.
