The corner

The corner

A Poem by lostapril

Around the corner I cried with you Around the corner where no one knew You walked away and left me alone Around the corner made of stone Who else can I blame a side from myself Now I'm here stripped of my wealth My wealth of stability and control So what do I do? What becomes my role? Around the corner I stand in pain Confusion..........maybe I am indeed insane? Around the corner hope becomes lost Around the corner, with stone and moss I've lost my innocence, my faith, my mind Even with words echoing, "it gets better with time" Around the corner time stands still Around the corner I lose my will I need to let go and escape Around the corner, I continue to wait But nothing comes and I stand alone Around the corner with moss and stone Around the corner I'm paralyzed with fear I can't do this....not again....not this year Around the corner my control is gone Around the corner shame has won
