THE GOODBYE FRIEND

the friend who thought she was
but never was.
nary a word
but only excuses.
not a phone call away
what was i to do.
two weeks plus too long
nary a word.
click of a button
i un-friend
the so called friend.
it only seemed right
make room for the ones
who care.
only to find
on my screen
i am the one who was wrong
she says.
for the so called friend
that dropped out of sight
with only excuses
with this and that.
not good enough
if i were a friend indeed.
only fond memories remain
until the clouds and time pass
into distant future
