Learning to FlyA Poem by Ellie Brewster
At first glance your eyes gave me wings, I flew.
A teen girl falling hard for a boy, it's nothing new. I fly higher with every little thing you do. I soar high above the tree tops. With every kiss my heart stops. Being without you, my sanity drops. This is all new to me. True love, could it be? Is he really the one with the key? Soon trouble sank in. The light became dim. That was the end of my grin. Is it more trouble then it's worth? Do you still love me? The question came forth. I thought we'd glide together, to the end of the earth. Everyday became a fight. Our future, no where near bright. Still, we hang on tight. I had to learn to fly. All fear, it passed me by. He's a different kinda guy. We took the harder route. The sun came back out. I can't even remember what it was about. You wiped away every tear. The end is nowhere near. Its now been over a year. © 2013 Ellie BrewsterAuthor's Note
