Lest we forgetA Poem by Valkyrie WarriorIn honour of Anzac dayLest we forget War, we all regret, murders of a brother, sister or father War, mass murder, serial killers out of scared little boys War, 60 million dead, for what? The good of a handful of people there is no “greater good” about it War, we all remember, the weeping widow, the motherless children Blood soaking the ground, blood of boys and girls, too scared to go back War, please not again, not my children, not my brothers and sisters Oil, money, land or gold, nothing is worth the death of millions Whether we can stop it I am not sure, all we can to for sure is be aware 60 million dead Over 2,000 homes destroyed Innocents killed, children found in the bomb rubble So is that the greater good I ask Is that politically correct I ask It’s where we’ve been, please let’s not make it where we’re going No, we will never forget
