The day started like any other I was wandering around the
forest thinking about lunch and sometimes sitting down to read my favourite
book (101 Ways To Cook Ham). When I came across a little girl in a garish
scarlet cloak hurrying down the path. I noticed in my starving desperation that
the girl was carrying a basket from which delicious smells were wafting. I
decided that the best way to get that basket was to waylay the girl. I stepped
onto the path in front of the girl and she stopped “Hello there, my pretty pet,
where are you of too in such a hurry?” I asked in my warmest voice, the little
girl gulped. “Speak up dear” I said, slightly annoyed by her rudeness “I am
going to my grandmother’s house, she’s sick” she said in a quaking voice. “Oh
really” I said “How frightfully delicious, I mean nice” I cursed myself, food
was still foremost on my mind. “And what’s in the basket?” I asked “Some of a
cold turkey” the little girl said, my mouth watered “Two currant buns, five jam
donuts with cream filling and a chocolate mud cake.” I was lucky I had enough
restraint not to let the salvia drip down my chin. My brilliant mind raced for
something to slow the girl down with for now a plan had formed in my mind. My
eyes darted about and came to rest on a flower patch about eleven paces from
the path yes prefect I said to
myself. “Well here’s an idea” I said, only just stopping my voice sounding like
a growl, “How about picking some of those lovely flowers for your poor, dear,
sick grandmother” . I girl looked surprized and then pleased “Ok, thank you,
mister wolf” she chirped and hurried off the path to the flower patch. I
continued down the path the little girl had been following and soon came to a
little cottage. When I went inside I saw a little old woman sleep in a big bed.
Now what it did next was regrettable, but it had to be done, I swallowed the
old woman whole. Next I went to her wardrobe and took out a pick nightie and
matching night cap and settled down in the bed. After a while there was a knock
at the door “Come in” I called in my sugar sweetest voice. The little girl
entered carrying the basket and a bunch of bright wild flowers. “Hello
grandmother, I brought you some goodies and a bunch of flowers “How perfectly
lovely dearie” I said keeping up the sugary voice. The girl walked to the
bedside table and placed the basket down atop it. “May I just say, grandma what
big eyes you have” said the girl sceptically “All the better to see your pretty
face with dear” I said feeling slightly nervous “And grandma, what big ears you
have” “All the better to hear your sweet voice with my dear” I said sweating
under my pink nightie. “But grandma” she said backing away “What big teeth you
have”. I decided to end this and down she went. Now I got started on the basket
and oh my, what deliciousness. After I had finished off the mud cake I felt
mighty sleep so I decided to have a quick doze. When I woke up I was next to a
pool and back in the forest. This was mighty strange but I dismissed it and
what’s more I had a terrible belly ache and a burning thirst and went to the
pool and leaned over it and…
