I was born in 65 and grew up listening to their music and will do for the rest of my remaining life. When I first picked up guitar at age 12 I did so specifically to learn my favorite song "Yesterday". It is so hauntingly melodic and quite easy to learn if I'm being honest. They changed the face of pop music for generations to come. And their influence still resonates today. They came at a turbulent time in history making music as the world began to fall apart around them. With great political leaders being assassinated. But despite the changing of the times their music never wavered from its message of profound peace and love. The Beatles. The greatest rock band in history of music.

yes the Beatles and others of that generation changed society in different ways….rebellious, the made their point through music and the world followed them…it was a turbulent time… and they were able show the world that there can be peace and love…even today we still remember their great political songs…..”in revolution came hope”….

The year I was born the Beatles released their most melancholic song called Yesterday. I've always been dran to that particular song throughout my life. If I had to choose a single song to define myself it would truly be Yesterday. Music just has that kind of power over us. Music being such a melodic art form that it has the power to unify opposing forces and or beliefs. Song inspires us towards our better angels. It transcends the boundaries of hate, inequity, and cultural differences. It brings color to an otherwise bland canvas of life. God is in the notes of song that stir the heart in action towards Love. And in the end isn't always true...all you need is Love? Blessings to you and may your art inspire the world towards love, keep on writing, no matter what may come. CLE
I see a jusxtaposition of the Bible and two musicians.
Paul Mcartney and John Lenon wanted a revolution...
to free men from the straight jackets of prejudice.
Paul of Tarsus and John the beloved wanted the world to
mend it's ways and embrace the message of the a loving God
...who sent his son to redeem the world.
This is a masterpiece!
I doff my hat!

Thank you Carlos.
I wish you and yours all the best
This poem really takes me back! You captured that period of time wonderfully, the feeling of revolution, of hope, it lifted my spirits. I was one of many that saw them first on the Ed Sullivan show, and your poem reminds me of the feeling of freedom.

I was born in the mid 60's and can remember my mom singing or humming their songs. I'm especially fond of the song "Yesterday". It was the first song I wanted to learn when playing guitar. To me that song is the perfect poem. There is a sadness, but also a hope to it. Their music will always be a part of my life. CLE
This is a beautiful and inspiring poem that really captures the spirit of rebellion and social change that defined the 1960s. I love the way that the author uses vivid imagery and rich language to explore the complex emotions and experiences of the generation of youth that was coming of age during this time, and the way that the poem builds to a climax of emotional intensity is truly breathtaking. The final lines, "In 'Revolution'... came hope," are a powerful expression of the transformative power of art and music to inspire and empower people to fight for social justice and equality, and they serve as a poignant reminder of the importance of standing up for what we believe in, even in the face of adversity and opposition. Overall, I think this is a wonderful piece of writing that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt the call to rebel against the status quo and fight for a better world.

I couldn't have defined the themes of this work any better than you have. You truly saw the message and meaning behind these words. As well, as the hope of a time that asked of humanity to be better. Art is the reflection of each generation. To inspire our better nature. Because it is in the attribute of Love that we are united and the same. CLE
I was 12 when the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan show. I fell in love with their music. I bought every album and I still enjoy listening to their music. The talent of each of the four Beatles is incomparable if you ask me. What a wonderful tribute to them. I liked it. Lydi**

I agree each one of them are talented on their own. And in their union created art that will live on for as long as humanity exists. I could not imagine living in a world without the songs of the Beatles in it. I'm saying this as I'm humming "here comes the sun". CLE
I went through a phase where I listened to all the Beatles recordings. And another phase where I listened to all the Stones recordings. I'm still listening to The Who though. I like The Beatles later stuff and the Stones earlier stuff but I like everything and anything by The Who. Different strokes and all that jazz. I was listening to an Alison Krauss album one day (I'm a fan of bluegrass too) and I heard this song, "I Will". As a poet, I thought, you know, this is really good and I wonder if she wrote that. Then I looked at the credits and it read, lyrics and music by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. I just had to laugh. I said, Oh...well, that makes sense. They really wrote some superb songs together.

I wish I could have written the words, "the love you take is equal to the love you make. " For no statement can better define our existence as a species than those simple words of poetry. I mentioned it before in another comment that I can't imagine a world without the incredible poetry of this band. If the world would ever come to an end and there were no more people on this planet if aliens came all they would need to do in order to understand humanity as a species would be to listen to the songs of the Beatles. Than they would get exactly who we were. CLE
