One can not be a part of this community and not be inspired by the art shared by others. The world speaks to each of us in these written words. Poets from all parts of the world who reflect the same creativity and aspirations displayed here. Shared love, hope, dreams, and sorrow. Our differences are little, for our empathy is grand. CLE

“Should chorus of crystal rivers
Lament into mourning dew“
… Carlos, you have truly written a deeply moving masterpiece of poetry here. “Solitude”, yes. Grief, yes. You perfectly evoke the pain of true love lost and mournful tears shed, with your graceful and lyrical verses, perfect musical references, vivid imagery, beautiful language, great meter, metaphor, alliteration and rhyme. This is an iconic, classic and memorable poem. So well-penned. Kudos my wonderfully poetic friend!

It is one of my favorites that I have written, at least in the top 5. I devoted quite a bit of time on this poem because its message was so profoundly me. I wanted to take beautiful moments in the world that we so often gloss over and take for granted while presenting a loving melancholy to them. To make it a bit ambiguous as to find a bit of resonance within the reader's heart. I also felt inspired by many of the submissions here in the community and the wonderful talented writers, including yourself, that move me to art. Thank you so much your comment means the world to me.

There is a mystical quality about this piece I feel because it exudes loneliness and solitude in loss. The images that should reflect joy are instead turned on themselves to reveal a sorrow. It is one of my favorite poems I have written because of its mystery. It has a bit of ambiguity to where it can mean something different to another about loss and loneliness. Sometimes when we write we find ourselves in a flow where we are simply the object like a pen and not the influencer of the words that come into existence. I felt that in the writing of this poem. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and taking the time to read this work. I truly appreciate it.
The amount that other poets and artists have helped me and inspired me to make some of my favorite personal writing is amazing. The flow of this piece is perfect. ‘Requiem in autumn’s twilight’. This is such a classic, gorgeous line, utterly breathtaking and aching like the rest of the poem. The pain and heart in this is beautiful and and relatable. I’m sure plenty of us wish we could just put memories in the shelves to forget about. I guess the closest thing we have is poetry. Thank you for sharing! I missed reading your work, I will be reading more. (:
Beautiful poem, the heart is so heavy of its wounds and pain, that sometimes it needs a poem and tears to free of its heaviness away into the world… the illusion that for a while it can sleep like a baby after a cry…. Oh heart, life, pain, oh love, oh memory, a gift and curse that we can’t rip apart but embrace every day

I couldn't have said it any better than you, Ioana. We artists bleed into our works. There are fragments of self within our art. Whispers, cries, and hopes that we instill for the reader to absorb and evolve from them. On an empathetic level and most human as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me on this poem. I truly appreciate it.

Much like your art as well I seek to create works that resonate with the audience on an emotional level. I want my art to linger in the mind as it roots itself in the heart. Reading the works of many artists here in our community helps me find that balance and attune to its visceral nature. I'm a better writer for it because I'm inspired by the amazing writers like yourself here. I'm always writing but few works I submit because they need to meet the threshold this community sets as art. Your kind assessment of this poem helps me get better at my craft. So thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me on this poem. I truly appreciate it, as a fan of your work as well.
An evocative poetic tribute to all who aspire to write poetic verse, in whatever shape or form. Good poetry deserves to be read and admired. This is good, my friend!

I strive to write meaningful work and words that resonates emotionally with the reader. It is so vitally important to me that I not just take the audience on a journey but also allow them to empathize with the work as well. In my old age I have grown to love poetry. More so now than in my youth because of the patience one must have to create as well as absorb such works. It has given me a greater appreciation of this remarkable genre of writing. It also helps to be a part of a community of incredible artists such as yourself who help me grow in my artistry. Thank you again my friend.

A lot of work went into its composition. And I feel as easy as its lyrical flow appears it was much more difficult to create its rythmic dance. There are very few pieces I've written that I felt satisfied with the results and outcome. This one poem to me feels complete. And it truly means a lot to me as a writer reading your comment on this poem. I really do appreciate your comment on this submission.
Carlos, you made a unique piece of poetry by using musical expressions such as Serenade and Requiem.
I enjoyed your poem very much. Thanks for sharing it.

I recognize the same art in your work as well. We writers strive to capture the imagination of our audience. Words are our colors, and the world is our canvas. And it is in our art that the world sees us, as well as their own humanity. Thank you again for your thoughts as well as the art you share to the world.

Aww wow such an awesome imaginative soulful muse here, one of your masterpieces surely. I find the word requiem so poetic but i forget its meaning everytime. Kudos for this beautiful poem!
Plz also check out my two newest poems and then pleez comment on one of these two poems that you prefer. Thanks
This is such beautiful writing. "Let time forget these moments, Whispered yearnings of our past..." we hope with time these are forgotten..... but sometimes they are embossed in our minds.... like set in stone... this 'heaviness' is captured beautifully in your writing.

To me time is like a tidal waves that sweeps against our lives. Crashing our residual selves into its forever sands of shore. But in the particles of us lay the foundation of our character. All the things that made us who we were. And all the moments that we made decisions, both good and bad, that may have influenced the lives of others. As said so prophetically by the Beatles in a song; "the love you give is the love you get". And to me it is the love you leave behind. Sorrow is a part of that love. For we weep what we hold close to our hearts. Time may take that moment but the memories will never fade. Thank you so much again for leaving me your thoughts on this piece. It truly means a lot to me.
