I had a dream where I was lost at sea floating on a raft. It was a perfect night with the stars illuminating brightly in the sky. And as I looked out before me I could see the heavens perfectly mirrored in the dark rippling waves. The stars danced in them forever. It felt as if my soul had finally found home. Until my muse appeared on the other side of the raft dangling her feet into the water smiling. Then as is her nature she stood up and proceeded to walk out into the surface of the water. What a show off. And she said in her sensual Cate voice "What are you waiting for, idiot, write! I give you inspiration and like a lost puppy all you do is stare out into distance. Wake up and write this down!" I was shocked in the moment and blurted out the scene from 'A field of dreams' asking her..."Is this heaven? ". Without skipping a beat she said, "Any time you're in my presence you are in heaven, you idiot." And with that she was gone. I woke up and ended up writing something else. Eventually though I did finally remember this. Feel free to leave your thoughts or comments. Thanks for reading this piece.

Sometimes my muse and the way she inspires me is a story in itself. Within us there are two aspects that define our individualit. Both a male and female persona. I feel the feminine aspect within me is my more creative side, because women by nature are creative creatures. Without them life is not birthed. I enjoy the company of my muse for she is wise, witty, and so much smarter than I could ever be. She makes me understand what it takes to be a better person by freeing my creativity and sharing it uncompromisingly with the world. Much like a mother with her child. After all are not the stories and poems we write like children to us? Thank you so much again.
Your authors notes are what I truly feel most interesting..Sort of like the beginning of a short story that one can not put down.
I am rereading for the 5th time what you wrote and what I see is a metaphor for Life in the word Dance...
but who am i to say..

Most of my writings have a little story behind them and if I have time during posting them I share that bit of insight. I always say my muse looks exactly like Cate Blanchett because she does in my dreams. Though she definitely is not as sweet and kind as the real one I'm sure. But one undeniable truth about my muse is she is a lot smarter than I with a wicked amount of wit as well. Thank you again.
So very beautifully worded Carlos and visually stunning! So cosmic and enveloping...almost a state of womb-like peace. I really like this piece :)

I like your metaphor it's very apt for this poem. I remember a few years back there was a movie called Life of Pi about a boy stranded out a sea. There were several beautiful scenes in that movie. It left me to wonder what a still sea with slight ripples and a bright starry sky would look like. I would like to think if would give the impression of floating in a universe as the ocean mirrors the night sky. It would totally reflect the tranquility of a womb like peace. Thank you again for your thoughts.
It reminded me of swimming with my children in the ocean off Florida's beaches. We would dive to the coral reef and watch the fish. It was a great time. Your poem was short but right to the point. I enjoyed it.

Like Tinkerbell calling Peter Pan a silly a*s? A sea of stars indeed. A poet could easily drown in that sea. Wonderful images, Carlos.

I found this interesting, I feel like you could write a great piece of prose with what you wrote in the author’s notes section, maybe a very short short story. This was beautiful, and very you.

I agree the author's note can be a a whole story unto itself. Though a bit of a funny one. I have to give my muse, who does look like Cate Blanchett, tons of credit because she really does supply tons of inspiration for my writing. She can be a bit conceited and overly vain but she does have a sweet heart, though it's wrapped in barbed wire haha.

If I can say something worth saying that makes just one person think about others...I'll try. The greatest storyteller was my grandmother. I miss her stories. Also, I would like to add to please pay.. more..
