A wordless poet dies
A songless dancer seats
A visionless painter cries
A pure heart beats
Pumping reason into rhyme
Transferring grace in melody
Flowing red in loving time
Drowning hatred in ecstasy
Of self definition
And decisions made
Leading hearts intuition
Within memories that fade
In the mind of a poet
Speaking truth they strive
To choose thoughts we can't forget
Writing words that come alive!
Yours truly,

Is it Chanson De Choix? Doesn't matter but we're here to help one another so I'm asking..haha. Loved everything about this one. "A heart without wrong=Love without hate" Now that'll carry me through quite a while as I consider the statement. Well, all of them actually which is what poetry is supposed to do. It takes us from our pretense and judgments and tosses our senses out the window, making us think from a different and most wonderful of place. Well done and thank you for sharing your art!

Much of our art is a reflection of choices we have made. We write what we know, and have lived. Thus bleed into our art pieces of self. Hoping our words will find meaning and comfort in the readers heart who relates to them. Thank you again.
Such a deep poem, thought provoking lines that strike a cord into one's mind. Reading your poem, my mind was already processing the thought of a soul without love or eyes without sight... so may levels we could take this onto... I could analize it for a week and still, only scratch the surface of it all. Poetry is not everybody's 'cup of tea'. It takes a certain type of character and personality to love poetry, to understand it and to want to unveil its meaning... and to feel it, like its creator did when they spilled the ink from their fountain pen... And when it gets to writing poetry, well, there is a differenet plateau of literary existence - as vast as the Universe - as deep as the poet's soul... Indeed a great read and write, I could talk about it for hours...Thank you for this share...

It truly does speak to our art and why we are driven to it. Poetry is such a personal and revealing art form. One must have a brave enlightened soul to write a poem, because it requires a bit of sacrifice and blood to the words. We bleed for our art. We write what we know, and have lived. In the choices we have made. Thank you again I sincerely appreciate it.
What is a poet without a pen. Our choices can be the bane of our existence or the blessing in disguise. No one is perfect and we all make bad decisions. Yet, we learn either way and go forward from there. This is a splendid poem, Carlos.

That is the beauty of poetry which we create. It comes from our life experiences. The choices we have made both good and bad. The beauty I see in things being imperfect are that there are more ways to describe it. Both in perspective and emotionally. Life is such an object of imperfection. And it is why it inspires so much incredibly powerful art. Thank you again.
Such a cool presentation sir. I really enjoyed this poem. Loved the depth and insight and the simple elegance of the piece.

Its complex message was illustrated in simplistic metaphors to illuminate an underlining truth to the art form. The words define the poet who writes from experience. We bleed for our art. From a body of work one can come to understand the mind of its creator. The life choices made that spring forth in tempo and rythmic cadence from each sentence. We write what we know because it has the most emotional impact on the reader. It is relatable, visceral, thought inducing, and most human. Whether written by the hand of Shakespeare or Dr. Seuss each is beautiful in its own style and presentation if the message resonates. This is why I love writing poetry because pieces of me are in the words of the art I create. And all from the choices I have made in my life. Thank you again for your comment and sharing this conversation with me I truly appreciate it.
Oh yes, there are so many choices in life and at times we don't make the best choices. But as poets, it gives inspiration. Wonderful writing Carlos :) Julie

You summed up everything this poem hopes to achieve in two sentences. It is why poetry is such a human art form. It truly does require a piece of us to create it. We bleed ourselves into the words. And much of it is personalized in our thoughts, emotions, and vision of the world through our eyes and heart. Thank you again so much for sharing your thoughts with me.
A wonderful poem shared Carlos.
"What is...
a poet without words
A dancer without song
A painter without vision
A heart without wrong"
If we lost our words, our song, our vision and our heart. What would be left? Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

The beautiful thing about poetry is that it's creation comes from the depths of the poet's heart. Our reflections of choices made in the past that had indelible effects in our lives. We write from memory and what we know both wrong and right, pain or joy. The words are emotions that seek to stir the readers heart and mind. To contemplate the errors of our ways, or the success of our triumphs. Love or hate. A good poet is an honest one. A brave one. Like you my friend. Thank you again CP.
Beautifully conveyed poetry dear Carlos. Yes, life is all about choices. We will make good ones and then others that maybe on reflection we will regret. Whatever, we have to accept responsibility for our actions. Your work is always a pleasure to visit. Sending you best wishes poet.

And it is in these choices both good and bad where sublime art springs forth. From a heart that writes of love and its greater virtues; to a soul that writes of the broken cracks of a glass heart. Poetry encompasses all these diverse choices that move the spirit to words. Inspiration truly is a Chason De Choix.

It actually brought me a bit of peace writing it because I struggled with trying to understand why art is needed in these times of chaos. Because we as artists choose to show despite the ugliness in the world there is profound beauty and hope. We can't have one without the other, because we need a reason to better appreciate the beautiful things. Thank you again for your sweet words.
