We, that are inspired

See through hope's desire

In the tinge of verdant and sage 

The weeping of nature for past summer's day

With leaves that rain like verse

Tragic melodic in universe 

Mellifluous sound of early morn

In the light of dawn; once more reborn

In every single blade of grass

Mother nature's weave is cast

What songs are sung of these

Few precious moments which we conceive 

We of wordsmith ply to craft

In lady Autumn's portent grasp

Of ardent dreams; to past

Inspired love in Everlast 

Author's Note

Early Sunday morning I got into a debate with my muse Cate. She wanted me to write a poem about the environment called "Free willy before he chokes to death from a plastic trash bag you threw into the ocean you asshole". But I wanted to write about evil clowns that haunt my nightmares. So like any lving couple we met at the middle. She's so kewl...(she made me say that). Thank you Chris I so appreciate the kind words. This is my favorite time of year and I wanted to pay tribute to it. This time of year always reminded me as a child of nature getting ready to sleep. Because of the muted tones and cold dreary days proceeding winter. Thank you again.

They could not have a greater teacher and mentor than you my friend. Your love for the art of words shape these impressionable young minds. You give them structure, idea, and purpose for the art form. I always thought teacher was not a strong enough word to convey the work, passion, and hope required and asked for in such an endeavor. Homer, Plato, and Socrates were philosophers who shaped young minds it is the essence of instilling knowledge. For every Hemingway, Steinbeck, and Melville there had to be an educator that inspired them to reach beyond their potential. Even those self taught had to learn from books of knowledge written by someone. Stories and poetry are only as valuable to the hearts willing to accept their message, and be moved by them. There is no greater calling in this world than that of the shaper of minds. Why write or teach for no other reason than that. Thank you J for your comment it is deeply appreciated as well as respected my friend.

We are all sensitive to the changing of the seasons. But I feel It takes an extra special creative to be able to see, feel and express the very essence of Autumn in their work. You display this special quality in all of of your work Carlos…which I am sure the young writers here at the Cafe can learn so much from.

Thank you YB for the kind words. The world is in need of art more than ever in these difficult of times. To steer the world in the right direction and inspire hope to young impressionable minds. Who better to speak to their generation but those young voices ready to speak truth to power like those poets of the past. I hope they engage themselves to the world not just to their angst. I know what it was like being a teen and self absorbed with my own issues instead of the world around me. But a single voice can make a difference if it earns the trust of their peers. Writing affords that opportunity if one has belief in themselves and their message. They can pave a road without hate or division with love and hope. The opportunities are few but they must learn to be brave enough in their voice to grasp them. I have nothing to give but hope to them. Thank you YB for your kind thoughts.
