This is a piece that hopes to inspire empowerment and a spiritual sense of self and our deep connections to nature. We should better value that which we are a part of. -CLE

So let hearts aspire; wander high
On those wings; oh Butterfly...
Thus is such a beautiful
piece. of poetry..the
butterfly with its delicate
wings and beauty in flight
a serene sight to behold
how high they fly free gracefully

These lovely creatures have such a divine quality about them. I have no doubt there are so many poems written about them, and deservedly so. They truly are beautiful.
I like the Frida Kahlo quote and it's so apt to describe the vivacity of a butterfly. There are so many beautiful aspects to describe this beautiful creature. It's a beautiful poem that you shared... Thank you for that

The qoute from the amazing artist Frida Kahlo best exemplify the aspects of the spirit this poem was written from. To her memory be true, and her art gave wing to us all. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this piece. I truly appreciate it.

You are so welcome, and Frida Kahlo is my favourite, her self portrait truly defines her
If, after starting off as a worm, a butterfly can attain such elegance, maybe the rest of us have some chance of improving. Patience, patience....

I liked the couplets here....the rhyming is flawless. Butterflies have always been very important to me. They are enchanting. Your words elevate them to almost a spiritual level. I enjoyed this one. Lydi***

I have always felt that these beautiful creatures were divinely created in some way. As a small child I thought they were actually tiny fairies from stories of legend. Only later to discover they were not as magical in nature as I had believed. They still fascinate me though and the kid in me still feels a bit of magic in them. Thank you so much again.
Butterflies are good metaphors for, as you say, empowerment and a spiritual sense of self. Thank you for writing lovely words.

They reflect true beauty as well because of their transformative nature. Anyone that should ever feel negative about the way the look on the outside need look no further then these creatures whose inner beauty eventually shines for the world to see. Thank you again for your thoughts.

He was on a bike ride and saw two broken branches. Then he saw two butterflies. He saw it as a spiritual message and his life was changed. He had a good life.

My uncle had a similar thing happen on his LSD trip he described his trip where butterfly wings spots were moving and swirling like universes. He used to tell me these stories of his experiences with LSD and peyote from back in the 60s. His stories were so out of this world nd mind bending. Thank you for sharing your husband's experience.
You got me! Not generally a rhyme fan but this split my opposition to it perfectly...
there is nothing forced here, it floats gently as the creature after which it is titled.

This was fun to write because in all honesty it practically wrote itself. There is just a majesty and fairytale quality to these floating little creatures. They simply capture our imagination with their colors and beauty. They simply are living poetry. Thank you again my friend for your thoughts.
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen as many as usual while out and about (masked of course... Me, not the...) Anyway, now I'm going to pay more attention to see if I'm just not looking or they too are isolating. The goth ones (moths) are certainly still about, which always leaves me wondering, if they like the light so much, why not just get up earlier! 😊

I laughed at first when I read this because it was a cute funny thought but then the more I thought about it the more it sounded actually reasonable.Thank you so much Lorry for your thoughts and also this profoundly quizzical question on moths. I really am intrigued by it now haha. You're the best.
I love butterflies, too. At school, I was given caterpillars to raise. They fed on one special kind of leaf only. They grew a lot, and then they wrapped up in a cocoon. After a week or two, beautiful butterflies came out. Then, we let them go.

Excellently written! Not long ago, I was wondering why I hadn’t seen a butterfly in probably two years, and now I can’t go outside without seeing at least three! I think it connects well with the spiritual aspect of the poem. This is a beautifully written piece. I like to pick my favorite lines but I can’t with this one. I love each line, they’re written with so much passion and fire. I’ve always loved seeing the connections of nature and ourselves and sometimes feel as if I’m the only one who does. Thank you for sharing!

And yes, I’ve heard those wildfires are awful, and I’m sorry you have to deal with all of that, but I hope you’re staying safe! You’ll see a butterfly when you least expect it, I’m betting.

If I can say something worth saying that makes just one person think about others...I'll try. The greatest storyteller was my grandmother. I miss her stories. Also, I would like to add to please pay.. more..
