"Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?"-Frida Kahlo

In powdered wings which fill the air

Drifting lonely; captured stare

Framed in patterns arresting eye

Delicate creature rising high

Between the space which binds us to

Planted feet that wish of you.

What secrets rest upon those wings

Aileron flight which rise and sing

Colored patterns upon your silk

Immortal beauty of your ilk

Enchanted by the dreams of you

Ascending up the endless blue

So let hearts aspire; wander high

On those wings; oh Butterfly...

So let hearts aspire; wander high
On those wings; oh Butterfly...

Thus is such a beautiful
piece. of poetry..the
butterfly with its delicate
wings and beauty in flight
a serene sight to behold
how high they fly free gracefully

Nice Work Carlos

This is very inspirational and so beautifully written. Your words float across the page much like that of a butterfly floating through the air. I am so happy to come across your work today. It is a much needed breath of fresh air on this sad day of remembrance.

Amazing! You've written a poem about butterfly & you didn't go into any of the stereotypes, like going into a cocoon & emerging, a theme of change, & all that. I love it when poets do not reach for the old standard imagery. Since you do not look back at the butterfly in its previous state, possibly your symbolism is about looking with current eyes, seeing what's right in front of us, instead of looking back & keeping old impressions alive (((HUGS)))

Butterflies are all that's spiritual to me. A gift if ever there was one. I just love being out in my garden when one of these winged beauties flutters by. I pause to ponder on which of my dearly departed might have paid me a brief visit. Wonderful. Poetry Carlos. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You are appreciated.

And I wish you the same as well dear friend. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.
Indeed, this is very spiritual; It's almost as if we are flying high with these butterflies, we are free, we are empowered of self to feel free like a butterfly, so our connection to nature is absolute and deep.
But one must really feel it inside themselves.
Well done Carlos!
Best, B.
