I am a dreamer at heart, I make no bones about it. Here is another contrite and sugary bit of fluff for your enjoyment. I feel the world needs it in these times.
The Stars that Twinkle

"To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance."- Oscar Wilde
I asked my muse for a poem on my favorite pet the cats. She rolled her eyes and said, "Poet, please, you get what I give, Dahlin." Thank you for reading feel free to leave your comments and thoughts.

Again, I appreciate this poem. I think that it's greatest strength is the contrast between what we expect to perceive as shining and bright, and finding that stars are not always what they seem. Yet only through soul-searching and self-actualization can we find the bright lights we were looking for all along. I think that your work delivers a message so rarely heard or considered, but one that serves as an important reminder from time to time that when all is dark, we possess the power from within to turn on the light. Thank you for sharing.

We have always taken to looking at the stars and universe as sublimely beautiful, and rightfully so, but so are we as human beings. At our greatest humanity we shine brighter and can inspire more to change the world. It's a simple message that seeks to expound upon our higher virtue. And I truly appreciate the fact that you see it for what it is meant to be. A love letter to humanity.
This is so beautiful. I could feel the warmth and softness you poured in your writing.

I feel the most difficult person to love is yourself. Because we know all our strengths and weaknesses. And all the mistakes and failures. We also know all our own bad habits and imperfections. We wish we were better but it's difficult to accept that we are not and can't change certain things about us. We must learn to live with them and love them because they make us who we are. We are all beautiful in our own unique way. That is our twinkling light. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this poem.
Beautifully portrayed Carlos...such a vast landscape to wander through self, true self and an endless, life changing, ever evolving reflection with many horizons to scan and process...if the light inside is never nurtured life can be so dark - both a balance needed for sure but it is the light where manifestation occurs and growth...great poetry :)

If we do not nurture that light inside how can we ever appreciate it within others. We are better human beings when we learn to love that light inside. Thank you again I sincerely appreciate it.
Beautiful poem. I agree the world needs so much light.

There is so much hate right now we need more art in the world. With a little hope maybe we can be more kinder to one another. We sure can use it.
a very interesting piece, Carlos, which can be taken either way...
the positives of our star shining long after we are gone...or it could be that we still present
a shine like stars do long after we are burned out...and that reflection is a ruse.
I like poems that can be defined in opposite terms...they are like mirrors....
real thing or reflection?
nicely done.

I do enjoy art that is ambiguous and whose interpretation is left up to the reader. For it challenges the mind to reflect how it makes them feel, as well as think. Not everything should have clarity because we human beings are complicated creatures. Good art educates not just entertains. It's why I so enjoy reading your poetry because you challenge the mind with the messages in your art. Thank you again my friend.
A beautifully portrayed encouragement in verse. Thank you for sharing.

The message is an important one which is reflected in these words though they may be a bit simple and contrite. We must learn to love ourselves before we can learn to love anything else. I truly believe in that simple notion. Thank you so much again for your comment.
This one reflects a lesson humanity has yet to learn: What we are seeking, we are. As long as we believe what will make us happy in the long run is external, we will continue to be frustrated.

If we can't even love ourselves then how is it possible to love anything else in this world. It is one of the more difficult journeys in life because all other love stems from it.
