The Stars that Twinkle

I am a dreamer at heart, I make no bones about it. Here is another contrite and sugary bit of fluff for your enjoyment. I feel the world needs it in these times.

The Stars that Twinkle

The stars that twinkle 

Through the night

Are not always ones 

Which burn so bright 

For the fairest ones

I do contend

Are abstruse and vibrant 

In light transcend 

Allusions frame

An amorphous mind 

Portends delusion

Of refraction sign

In divinely spectacle 

We seek within

The fairest light

Of love therein 

So gaze upon 

The eyes in verse

Beguiling and twinkling 

In universe 

And you will come

To see what's true 

The brightest luminance 

Resides in you...

 

Author's Note

I asked my muse for a poem on my favorite pet the cats. She rolled her eyes and said, "Poet, please, you get what I give, Dahlin." Thank you for reading feel free to leave your comments and thoughts.

Yes they do have mysterious eyes and they are also very independent creatures too. You have to earn their love and trust. I think a cat's personality is closer to that of a human. An old cat of mine named Merlin hated a previous girlfriend. He never ever would let her touch him or pet him and would hiss an growl if she tried to call him to her. It was like he knew she wasn't the right one for me and tried to warn me of that. I miss that old cat haha. Thank you Jasmin for your thoughts on this poem and also the comment on cat's eyes. I can feel this poem as I also believe that this life is beautiful and we have to love ourselves no matter what comes....only then we can radiate this positivity ! Stars are twinkling as they are burning...so this is a process we should learn from universe.Whenever we fall it is our duty to stand again.By this way we can walk through our life-path.

If a person hasn't learned to love themselves how can they ever love anyone else. When you finally except who you are as a human being then nothing anyone else has to say really effects you. I love the quote! And, I always believe that love of self is of utmost importance….it gives you the ability to love another, to feel confident to reach for anything , even the stars…. It is the ultimate in the immersion of a romance. “ the fakest light of love therein”

Thank you Betty for you comment. The hardest love to achieve is a love of self because you can't lie, nor be disingenuous to yourself. You know where all the bodies of untruth are buried haha. So there is no fooling you. When you can accept your faults and frailties then you can better understand loving others as well for their imperfections. Acceptance is one of love's greater attributes and a virtue unto itself. Thank you so much again.

we can find that internal light
within the darkness if we try
with a little effort..stars some
so bright they burn out as the
lesser dim stars hold a steady
low glow..both have their pros
and cons also stars may just
slowly fade away..i like the
