Through the Asian culture poetry is gifted with the art style of haiku and Senryu. Each slightly similar in near composition but also distinctly different. But both undeniably beautiful in its poetry.
This is really beautiful. I've always been drawn to Japanese culture and The Cherry Blossom Tree, and discovering their connection to Confucianism and the cycle of life and death was such an important understanding for me. You've captured this so elegantly in your poem, which is very clever and has put a big smile on my face this morning. Thank you for sharing!
Best wishes,
Laura.

I have always loved the falling of cherry blossoms. There is a sweet beautiful sorrow in their rain from the branches. I felt they aptly applied to the theme of this poem. Life is fleeting and like the petals their abundance are finite much like our memories which encompass moments that define our life. Thank you again for taking the time to read this work, I appreciate it.

This brief offering is true to Asian philosophy. In three lines it contains the spirit of the Buddha.

It was my sole intent to try to echo exactly those asian philosophical wisdoms. Anytime I write something it's with the idea of leaving a lasting impression or thought within the reader. I try to reach them on an emotional level or provide an empathetic perspective on the human condition. If I can achieve that in any of the writings, for the most part, I consider it a victory. Thank you again for taking time to read and comment. I truly appreciate it.
lovely poetic verse
life is indeed discovered
in the living .words of wisdom
in just 3 lines..a tad more
syllable count than your typical

I find it very challenging to write in this genre of poetry because my writing style over all is wordy colorful and effusively descriptive. It's my weakness to be honest. But I also find it my strength. The art of writing is malleable by nature. From old systems come new that branch out creating sub genres. All from new ways of thinking and evolving we grow new art from the old. But some of the best challenges is going back to the roots and essence of beginning. Reshaping myriad thought into concise space. Haiku and Senryu are a challenging art form that is for sure. It is an enjoyable puzzle to decipher, and one I'll eventually unlock. The sad thing is growing up in the mid 70s and into the 80s poetry wasn't really pushed during many of my lit and writing courses. Short story and fiction were mostly focused on. I had read poetry before but never contemplated their many variations in the genre. I truly am a novice to this artform despite being in my mid 50s. But I see the limitless possibilities available in this art and open myself to it. Thank you again, Fran. For your kindness is encouraging in my journey.

We are born into a world with a time clock around our neck ticking away to our demise. Some lives are seconds and others vast amount of years. But it's the fleeting moments in between which defines life to us. Our purpose, our Joy's, our bliss, and losses. And our wonders. We don't come to understand life until we fully live it. Thank you again.
this makes me think of all our various trees that display their beauty for a brief moment and then have it all blow away in a spring breeze

The roses, poinsettias, and others with bright colors. Then as an angst filled teen how I was pessimistic in my views asking what was the purpose if their beauty was fleeting and didn't last long. And in her simple wisdom saying because it's there and always comes back if you work for it. Funny how years later I would come to understand that profound and truthful answer. It's by our hands and the love we instill into these things that beauty returns.

The confetti petal fall of the cherry blossom is so beautiful, but also fragile. Like life itself we are destined to blossom and fall. If we are lucky we live to a ripe old age, for some their life is over before it's hardly begun. Yes, the life of the tree resembles that of our own. We learn from nature and that wise woman knew that. I am fond of haiku and senryu. The brevity allows the mind to wander. Thank you Carlos. My orange blossom is in full heavenly scented sight as I respond here.

I loved when they bloomed and when the petals would fall they looked so beautiful. They were like raindrops of color. Flecks of pink and lavender drifting in the wind. They truly are the colors of joy. Thank you, Chris, for your words and the images they leave me with.

I seriously fought against adding more and the also removing a single word. I really wish I could have added more though haha. This type of poetry is really challenging. Another funny fact I seriously thought about creating a name for it that would be longer then the poem itself. Hopefully I can create a much better one that will fit the jovial side of this art form. Thank you though for reading this.

Haha, ya, you used your title to sneak in a fourth line. That's cheating. I count 35 syllables, so you're a bit more than double what you'd want, but its lovely anyway. You'll get it. :)

After my last very serious submission I wanted to go a little more light and hopeful. This type of poetry is more a challenge to me because I'm used to being more descriptive and wordy in my writing. As I have said before though it's always good to try something out of your comfort zone. It gives you a greater appreciation for the art of writing itself. Thank you so much again.
If I can say something worth saying that makes just one person think about others...I'll try. The greatest storyteller was my grandmother. I miss her stories. Also, I would like to add to please pay.. more..
