Summer

Summer

A Poem by Carlos Lorenzo Estrada
"

my sentimental contrite typical love song to a girl who is almost here, a few days away. She always makes me feel like a child again. Summer...

"
Summer

By

Carlos Lorenzo Estrada

Lazy days on a Sunday
Oh, how they call to me.

A summer breeze in the morning
And butterflies floating that I see.

How they dance upon great blue sky
Wings waving through that indigo riptide

I can see the world before my eyes
And I can't help but open my heart wide.

And so I'll dance
Like I've never danced before.

And I'll sing
I'll be the calm before the storm.

And I'll laugh
At all the silly things you do.

'Cause there's no one I love
More then you.

That's true.
Best wishes.
A song of summer. How positively charged this is Carlos. You bring the reader some beautiful imagery. Like those butterflies, my mind was fluttering into the past remembering the long carefree days of summer. Thank you for evoking such happy memories of childhood and reminding me that summer these days is often about my garden. Scented and colourful with lots of wildlife to ponder on. Nothing like a clear blue sky and sunlight to lift the spirits. Beautiful thoughts and such an uplifting write. Yes, it just makes you want to kick off those shoes and dance again, barefoot in the clover :)

What a sweet and innocent poem! It feels good to read and relive my youth at the NC beaches. I can see the water and feel the warm sun on my face. Thanks!
