When the Prophet spokeA Poem by Carlos Lorenzo Estrada"In our longing for our greater selves; lies our goodness. And that longing is in all of us." -Kahlil GibranWhen the Prophet spoke By Carlos Lorenzo Estrada Here I sit Before the infinite. And there she lay Before the dawn of day And with awakened eyes We awoke. When the Prophet spoke. With majestic calm And riddled Psalm Enlightened wind That blows within When love is called to us Through holy word When the Prophet is heard. And when I needed God She'd comfort me. And when I called to God He'd spoke to me. And when I walked with God They followed me. And I was led to the grace of my humanity.
