A Place To Take You Back

As she sits here, on this 85 year old tree stump,

that over looks the sunset that reflects on the lake.

Feeling the warm smooth breeze against her skin,

She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath in,

feeling it go through her lungs, her rib cage expanding,

goose bumps run up her arms and down her legs.

She's able to see what no pain or brokenness would feel like,

she feels a change in her body. Her heart pumps faster,

blood smoothly flows through her veins,

she feels reborn and reenergized.

She's so lost in this moment of peace,

that she almost forgot she has to wake up,

and have to have an oxygen mask just so she can feel her lungs breathe again,

that she has to have blood pumped into her veins,

just so she can have a warm touch.

She wants to go back to feeling 16, wild and free.

But she knows she can only dream about but never relive it.

That happens, I am in my twenties and hell I want to be 16 once again. Great capture of emotions.Good Poem #stillakid....haha....
