Chapter 15A Chapter by Lorena RoseOver the next two days, I tried to convince Seth to be who he really was, but he fought me on it constantly. Nora was always waiting with a plate for me and Darren to share when I got done. Eva was sleeping in my room now because she couldn't be in the same room with Seth right now. He kept yelling at I needed to return his property to him and I hit him once or twice when he said it today. I was always relieved when I was back with my sane friends. When I walked into Seth's room, Eva was already in there. “Seth, please come back the baby needs its father,” she pleaded. “He is gone, but I will still give you what you truly desire,” Peck replied and Eva started crying. “I won't do that with you, I will not make my children suffer at the hands of your idol,” she shouted. “He is my master and you will give him what he wants, Keller,” he sounded so cold. “Seth, do not let him take our babies,” she started crying and I ran over. She started sobbing into my shoulder when I embraced her. “Eva, it's okay he isn't himself your children are safe I swear,” I assured her then Seth started struggling again, “Go get some food, keep the little guy healthy.” “Okay,” she looked at Seth one more time before she hurried out of the room. “You cannot keep my children away from me, Garnet,” he said. “You have no right to them, you and Eva are the same age so she can decide whether you are a part of the child's life,” I challenged. “May, you cannot do that,” he almost sounded like Seth. “Eva can, you would hurt her too much if you took away her baby and I will not let her suffer,” I insisted. “Maya, no,” he struggled harder. “Seth,” I said then the door opened, “Eva, Nora stay out right now.” “Sisters,” Seth muttered then something heavy hit me in the back. I fell forward and I heard laughter. I looked up to see Lynx, Kelley and Lyssa standing over me. “Very funny,” I caught the chair when Kelley tried to hit me again. I jabbed the leg back into her stomach and got up. I used the chair to knock down the other two girls and threw it at Kelley when she tried to get up. “What do you want?” I demanded. “Keith and Davinia want to see you, Garnet,” Lynx got up, “They always get what they want.” “Not today they don't,” I told her, “You three had best go deliver the bad news, or I'll tell the leaders you and Jasmine are associated with the military.” “I won't say that,” another voice said and I saw Jasmine unlocking Seth's restraints. “Jasmine, don't try it,” I warned her. “Seth, she is taking away what belongs to you and Morrison, hurt her and then Keith and Davinia can complete the mission,” she said quietly unlocking the last restraint. “Seth,” I warned him then Lyssa and Kelley grabbed me from behind. “Let go,” I struggled then Seth came over. “Hurt her,” Jasmine encouraged him, “She wants your baby.” “Seth, don't,” I said then he smashed his fist into my stomach. I gasped then he grabbed my shoulder and threw me into the wall. It was stone so when I contacted it I was left with ringing in my ear. “Sorry, Garnet,” he tried to pull me back up, “I have a mission.” “Peck does,” I shoved him, but then he grabbed my arm twisted it until I screamed. Lyssa ran forward and covered my mouth before I got anything out and I bit her hand. “Surrender,” Seth said and I swung at his head with my uninjured arm. It contacted then he threw me to the ground. Kelley kicked me in the head and I pulled out my knife and stabbed it into her foot. She started to screech, but Lynx got to her after one loud cry. “You are weak,” Seth pulled the knife out of Kelley and put his foot on my back to hold me down. “Seth, this isn't you; Eva will never give you for this,” I said and I felt him falter. “If she's here, she'll never let you take Eva home, you'll never see your child,” Lynx told him and he put the knife to my throat. “Seth, please,” I pleaded as he pulled me up to my feet. “Now we will go downstairs,” Jasmine said and Seth pulled me out of the room. He went across the hall to the stairwell and started to try dragging me down the stairs. “This is payback for what you did with my guy, Garnet,” Kelley said then the knife was off my neck and I got shoved down the stairs. “Wait,” Seth said then I fell. I hit the stairs one after another and each one hurt more than the last. I started rolling and my head was spinning. I finally hit the bottom and I groaned in pain. “You cannot kill her,” Seth came to my side and checked my pulse on my neck. “We were just teaching her a lesson,” Lyssa answered then Seth pulled me up to my feet. My feet shook and it was painful to move. “How did that feel?” Kelley whispered into my ear. “Drop dead,” I replied then they opened the door and took me down the next two staircases. I was only half conscious when we got into the basement. “Miss. Garnet,” one of the four guards said then they all came running over, “Let go of her.” Jasmine shot them all with darts before they reached us then Seth took me into a room Lyssa had to unlock. He threw me down my knees and I heard laughter. “She looks tired,” I recognized Davinia's voice, “Kelley, did you throw her down the stairs?” “Yes,” Kelley chuckled, “Seth, can you go lock the door from the outside and go make a distraction upstairs so we can get her out of here?” “But...” Seth began. “Go now, Peck,” Keith said then I looked up to see Jasmine unlocking his restraints. “Yes,” Seth said and I looked at him. “Seth please,” I watched his eyes brighten to way they used to and then they dulled again. “Get her out of here,” Seth left the room and I heard him head back up the stairs. "Well done, girls," Keith's arms wrapped around me and every part of me froze. "I've been waiting to see you again," he whispered. "Thank you, ladies," Davinia grabbed Lynx and Lyssa's arms. They were shocked then Keith blocked the other two they were zapped until they were unconscious too. "Did you have to knock them all out gorgeous?" Keith chuckled. “Kelley has her uses, but for now her job with us is done,” Davinia watched me, “She looks shaky, did they knock you around too much, Maya?” “I guess I can let her speak,” Keith let go of me for a second. “You two are both going to get caught and when they do, I hope they fix him,” I snapped, “You, Davinia should be treated to the same hell I went through with the death serum.” “Yes well,” she grabbed my wrist and pain shot up my arm, “We will be getting away with our new little pet.” “Let go,” I swung at her, but Keith caught my arm and froze me. I couldn't feel the pain in my arm anymore then he dragged me out of the room. I heard the emergency door burst open and I got tossed back to Davinia. “Freeze,” I heard Darren say. “Price, you should know better,” Keith said and his girlfriend sent searing pain up my arms. I cried out and I saw Darren start forward. “You are not getting out of here,” Darren warned him, “Let her go or there will be serious consequences.” “Dare, attack them now,” I said then Davinia increased the pain. “Do you want to cause her more pain, Darren?” Davinia questioned, “Get out of the way, I've caused so much pain to a girl before that she actually died.” “I have a high tolerance to pain,” I growled. “No one can handle that level,” she said and I saw Darren looked so uncertain, “We'll let go of your girl when we get outside, Price you just have to let us out.” “Darren, don't,” I shouted, but Darren nodded still glaring at Davinia. “Dare,” I said as Davinia pulled me to the staircase, “Don't believe them, Price they have lied about everything else.” “Maya,” he tried to enter the staircase, but Keith locked it before he could. “May,” he banged on the door. “I'll take her now,” Keith said then I shoved my elbow back into Davinia's nose. She screeched then I pushed her down the stairs and she fell on Keith. I ran the rest of the way up the stairs and started towards the cafeteria. I made it to the next hallway before someone tackled me and my head was knocked into the wall. My vision went fuzzy and then I was lifted up by cold arms. “No more running away, seer,” Keith said then I closed my eyes. I heard doors open and I knew when I was laid down in the backseat of a vehicle. “Should we go back for the baby mom?” Davinia asked. “I think this will be enough for Morrison,” Keith said as they got in the front. “She's such a young thing, why do I have to share you with that child?” she moaned. “You know you're my favourite,” he drove off then my mind went blank. I lost track of everything and then when I opened my eyes to see the car's roof I had to remind myself what happened. I tried to sit up, but every movement was too harsh on me. “She's awake,” Davinia commented, “Good evening, Miss. Garnet.” “I hate you both;” I forced myself to sit up, “Why are you two bothering to take me back the controller serum does not work on me? Neither does the death serum.” “You just need persuasion to join the right side,” Keith remarked. “I am not being persuaded by anyone,” I replied angrily, “Both of you best give up now.” “You underestimate the military's abilities,” Davinia laughed, “You will do what you're told soon enough.” “You overestimate your people's power, you have maybe ten talented people,” I felt a vision coming, “Not right now.” “That's enough to take your weaklings down,” Davinia replied, but I stopped listening before my eyes were seeing something else. I saw Darren being injected, him crying out in pain and Seth dragging me away from the building.
“There is no more time to save him,” he said. “I need to get to him,” I said then I saw fire around the hospital and military soldiers throwing rocks at the men guarding it. “You took our children,” one woman shouted. “The tide will turn,” I saw the lightning come out the sky, wind pick up troopers, fire engulfing people and a flash of clothing as soldiers were knocked around. “Together,” the voice said then I saw the wide scope of the graveyard fight, “Only with strength and cunning.”
“Help us,” Dex reached out for me then the sun came out. I opened my eyes and Keith was looking back at me. “Why isn't she answering?” Davinia asked him. “You just had a vision, didn't you,” Keith remarked. “Nothing,” I replied. “Tell me,” he climbed into the backseat. “I only tell Darren my visions,” I answered, “Drop dead.” “You shouldn't talk like that,” he grabbed my face and I was frozen, “You belong to the military now and we won't let go of you again.” “No,” I managed to get out. “Your caretaker might have something to say when we arrive,” he squeezed my face. “Are you ready to return to older brother?” Davinia looked back at me. © 2015 Lorena Rose |
