And then there was Love..

And then there was Love..

A Story by Lordwin

Love and other things.

And as they bid there goodbyes, he stood there with a heavy heart. For it was that time which could be that one last time he saw her. Their eyes met but they didn't speak , for each feared what the other might be thinking. As time waits for no man or woman, they too had to part ways. As she walked away he kept looking at her for his heart was mourning for the loss of words, words which if had been used wisely would have granted him, her.She disappeared among the evening crowd and as he turned away nobody noticed a tear drop rolling down his moist eyes..and none noticed her wiping away her tears for him whom she loved secretly all these years, who had now gone away.
Was it love ? Was it infatuation? She couldn't tell. All she knew was that he was someone special. Someone unique. The fear of living her life in regret sunk in. She broke down. The thought of losing him forever was unbearable to her. But what could she do now? Just moments back she let him slip away. If only she opened up..if only. She couldn't take it. Finding the little courage she could muster, she found herself tracing back her footsteps
He was devastated. He felt his heart being tied to a boulder and dropped in the middle of the sea. He had seen eternity in her and the fact that all things come to an end had eluded him. No more discreetly admiring her beauty. No more listening to that soulful voice. No more her. Her smile had kept him going all these years, and now he didn't know what to do."Death is the sweetest drink as in it all the sorrows are dissolved" a friend had told him once.
For it is in the darkest of mines that the brightest of diamonds are found. So in this hour of reflection he was discovering himself. What he was, What she meant to him. He refused to let go and held on to those dear memories of her. Like a gambler challenging his luck, his poignant self glanced in her direction for one last time hoping dearly to see the impossible.
Sometimes life gives you a second chance because you weren't ready the first time.As he turned, his eyes widened, heart skipped a beat. For there she was in her full glory. Her sapphire eyes piercing through his vulnerable defenses. He was engulfed in a wave of emotions.
There he stood. Her prince, the knight in shining armor. Just few sweet steps away. All she had to do was to take him in her arms. Her joy dwarfed the pine trees that stood witness to this love song. Everything around them slowed down. Time itself stopped as the youthful passion blossomed. She moved towards him with tears in her eyes and  a blissful smile on her lips. He started to believe in a god that till now was ignorant to his prayers. He watched as she advanced towards him. His heart pounding with every step she took. He had made up his mind. Love is the sweetest drink as in love all our sorrows are dissolved, he wanted to correct his friend.
