All Around MeA Poem by PrototatoRealization, deterioration, and improvement.
I look around me, and I think misery
I try to aid those who are in need Not realizing I'm already a glass house breaking Eyeing the drywall and brick as though it can be shattered Trying to protect the protected, pulling myself apart Cracks line my house, and I don't care I carry the weight I think I have to, no matter the cost Holding together the house and holding up the others, now reliant Adding the weight, disregarding your house Now irreversably cracked, practically shattered And finally, finally you can let the weight go, and as it turns out Those brick houses and drywall houses were a centimeter thick You helped As you look out, through whatever minescule uncracked glass remains That they're happy And all that you are Is about to fall apart And there is absolutely Nothing You Can Do. © 2017 PrototatoFeatured Review
