Something big

November 29th I went to school and everyone was making cat sounds as I walked past and as the day went on I never let the pain I felt show. I stayed there trying my best not to break down and cry. I had Kai by my side the whole time. I wanted to hang out with Kai. Before my mom got home so after school myself and Kai went down to the bridge off of the freeway and walked the service and flood tunnels talking and holding hands the whole time. We got back around dark.

 December 7th Today at school I noticed that the cat noses stopped but were replaced but growling and laughing with a few howls. I saw a crowd around Kai she was beet red and looked like she had been crying. I pushed my way through and stood in front of her and yelled: "LEAVE MY PRINCESS ALONE!" Everyone instantly became silent. Then not even a moment later it hit me what I just said. I turned beet red and started to blush then I heard a voice it was Katie's voice but she shut her mouth as the hands on the leader of the outcasts rested on her shoulders. I grabbed Kai's hand and ran to the bathroom. As the door to the bathroom closed. I looked at Kai with fear and anticipation. She was still blushing. I squeezed her hand. Then she pulled me close and with a grin said "princess huh?" I slowly nodded and softly said in a broken mouse-like voice "My princess?" She looked at me with her dark brown eyes. I moved her brown hair from her eyes. I leaned down a bit and kissed her softly then waited for her to respond... She kissed back but only for a short time and started to cry. I slowly wiped her tears. She softly said "I can't" then ran out of the bathroom.
