In the picture lies a stage

Who lies with open doors

It lies awake outside

my open bedroom door

My sheep are all gone

Before I learn to sleep

They turn the pages quick

Before I learn to read

The picture’s always there

Inside my bedroom war

It mocks and taunts my walls

And through my belly bores
