Midnight Romance

Midnight Romance

A Story by Evan Spoonhunter
"

Ah, boy meets girl, girl meets boy, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! Oh did I mention they're vampires?

"

How beautiful she looks standing there across the courtyard. Her golden blond hair swaying gracefully in the gentle breeze, the silver beams shooting down from the moon make her pale white skin glow as if she were some celestial being. She looks like such an unnatural creature among these ordinary humans. I'm actually beginning to think that there is something inhuman about her, just like me.

The girl leans closer to a large rose bush and plucks a vibrant red rose from it's branch without so much as pricking one of her delicate fingers on a single thorn. She raises the red flower up to her nose and inhales a deep breath through her nose. Her golden brown eyes close, letting her thick black eyelashes caress her ashen cheeks.

The strings portion of the band inside begins to play a wistful melody. A familiar tune. If I'm not mistaken, which I never am when it comes to the arts, it's a song composed by Bach himself.

Immediately, as if the music had cued it up, the girl opens her eyes and looks directly at me. A seductive smile forms on her full lips and she turns away from me breifly. She begins to twirl about the courtyard in a graceful manner.

The way her body twists and turns is nearly enough to make my still heart beat once more. Its almost by watching her act in such a lively manner made me alive again.

I can feel he burning desire to share my body with her beginning to boil over. It's the desire that I thought I had lost long ago when my heart stopped beating.

The girl continues to dance about the cobblestones in such a beautiful manner and she slowly is coming towards me. As soon as she's close enough she locks those amber eyes with my own crimson and that's when I realize I have to have her.

I grab her arm and pull her towards me. I grab her chin and force her to look at me again with those eyes.

"You, my celestial angel, are the single most beautiful creature among these petty mortals." I whisper to her.

She holds the red rose to her nose again and then puts it into my coat's front pocket.

"And you, my vampire gentleman, are the most magnificent thing I have laid eyes on this night." She whispers back.

She stands up on her tiptoes and brushes the brown curls away from my white neck. I feel her press her ice-cold lips against my neck in a tender kiss and then the next thing I feel is her fangs raking the flesh above my vein. Her fangs drive deep into my neck with quick severity and it's nearly enough to make me howl.

The scent of the acidic poison from her fangs mingling with my crimson blood is intoxicating. My head begins to spin and suddenly my fangs are unsheathing themselves to feed as well.

She pulls away from my still bleeding neck, bright red dripping from her fangs, and reaches up to her own neck. She undoes the lace collar covering her thin neck and reveals her alabaster white skin. She tilts her head and offers her neck to me. An offer I cannot deny.

I hesitantly wrap my arms around her small waist and ease her body a few inches closer. I lower my head to her neck and sink my inscisors into her neck and she lets out a catty cry. She reaches up and laces her arms around my neck.

Her blood is amazingly sweet, just like the roses surrounding us.

For the first time in fifty years I begin to feel that yearning to be one with her. I want to share the divine pleasures of my body with her and only her.

She's the one I want.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS GREAT!!! i usually do not read pieces this long, but the title and the first line brought my attention. this gave me the full image, i do suggest not using the word "golden" for both her eyes and hair, i would use it for one and then find a different word for the other. but this piece is the opposite of basic, and your writing is as well. well, well done:)
