In my Inadequacy.

In my Inadequacy.

A Poem by Kay S

I stay in my box.
My unoriginal
inadequate box,
Whilst I long to be free...

To live with excitement,
Adventure and glee.
Not safe in that box
Content but not free,

To love with such passion
The sun will stand still,
And the old words of the old world
will die at my foot.
Not Byron, Rossetti,
Nor Auden or Frost,
None will live up to the one I have not.
And the depth and the breadth and the height
Of my plagiarised love
is all that I have.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Love so intense
It cannot be described,
But I'll try anyway
With my words, I will try.
Scribbling endlessly reams
Til these words pass me by,
And I'm left with just love,
Unoriginal love.
But my love,
I will try.

Can't shake the feeling the second stanza isn't quite right. . And the spacings of some lines is off because I typed it on my phone!

Go for it, girl! A hill will always be too steep for those who won't climb.

I like it:) seems to be about how people can't get of their box. They find themselves liking it even though they know that they won't get any better if they don't try to get out if it, which by the way is what the majority of people do. Very nice, and thanks for entering, sorry I reviewed SOOO late>,

Actually I quite liked the second stanza. A fun and bouncy tone to the whole poem ( to me at least) but while conveying very deep meanings and thoughts.
Well written :)
