Tomorrow

Tomorrow

A Poem by Brian
"

About depression

"
Trapped within my simple mind,
Is a pessimist who's always right.
Even more to my dismay,
Forever inside it shall remain.

Its breath sends chills down my spine,
Although I say everything is fine.
I close my eyes as sun fades to night
My dreams haunted by beautiful lies

I'm tormented with another day.
A misery I can't explain.

If I'm being honest,
Tomorrow's not a promise.

I like the insight you show. The depth of subject matter goes way beyond the words you use but you manage to set the reader on that journey of thinking. The ending is truth and it's sad and it's beautiful but it's right. I like how you wrote the "pessimist" is "always right" then proceeded to show us why.

Nice.

Sadly, I understand this depression. It can be blinding when the darkness consumes you. Sometimes you can't see the positive side, being optimistic can seem unattainable. I wish I knew the remedy to happiness, to help others (besides medication). This is a powerfully gripping piece, it really opens your eyes. Well done, Brian.

This one made me laugh. Inappropriately I suppose, but pessimism is deep in our DNA. An ancient survival technique.

Beautifully written. Nice emotion and thought to it. I like the second to last stanza. Nice job!

i have to say this is without a doubt one of my favorites. our writing style is similar w' what we write about. everyday life is just a challange and it's hard to get up in the morning sometimes but we have to and show the world that we're making it through their unfairness. keep up the great work(:

An emotion deep inside of you what you think there's no tomorrow but it's only mind. If you build a wall with a concrete wall of course you can't get out there and there will be no tomorrow. Now as you expressed it there will be a chance to get out of that concrete nutshell of depression. Good - write it out, burst it out from the core and breathe high.

I saw this picture before but wow, you done it justice! The piece I was gonna write for it would be nothing compared to this. Wasn't even about depression to be honest, this was great! You're mega talented. :)
