Only in my Dreams

Only in my Dreams

A Poem by Brian
"

About a girl I like

"

Butterflies twirl my stomach deepest

Followed by the sleepless nights

But all along I’ve kept the secret

Of the feelings that burn up inside

Celestial fate has ruled in our favor

But still something stands in the way

Each night I stay up even later

Letting the chips fall where they may

Finally when I’m entranced in peaceful sleep

Of her I have many lucid dreams

Where I speak the truth and take the leap

So that forever she can be with me

But waking up brings a different sight

Because of this my heart weeps

I’m not the shiny-armored knight

That she wants, deserves, and needs.

A short little thing I wrote at one in the morning. The picture to the poem is an inside joke.
