To my Mother

To my Mother

A Poem by Brian

The soft, gentle touch of a newborn

Held in the arms of its mother.

Once chaotic, but now a tranquil room

Time goes on and I love her.

She drops me off on my first day of school,

The bell rings, time to start classes.

Before I leave I kiss her goodbye,

Because I love her. Time passes.

Its different now that I'm getting older

We've grown apart in many ways

But I still kissed her and said "I love you"

On my high school graduation day.

College starts a new chapter of life,

I'm living and learning on my own.

And instead of hugging and kissing her

I say "I love you" on the phone.

Someday I will say my final goodbyes

Hopefully a long time away

But before any more time passes

I'll visit my mother today.

Aww this is so sweet. You mother must be lucky to have you as a son. Great emotion and thought. I loved the way you organized it. Nicely done. Great job!
